Don’t Waste Your Humor
I happened across a very interesting sermon this week entitled “Don’t Waste Your Humor” by CJ Mahaney.
I love the way CJ Mahaney talks about humor and its proper uses in glorifying God and helping us to grow in grace. If you like C.H. Spurgeon, you will also enjoy this sermon, because much of the material is gleaned from the “Prince of Preachers” himself.
If you have never heard of Mahaney before, he is the former pastor of Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland and current director of Sovereign Grace Ministries.
The new pastor who took over for Mahaney at his church in 2004 is someone whom you probably have heard of: Joshua Harris, the author of “I Kissed Dating Goodbye“. Joshua Harris’s famous book came out way back in 1997 (it seems like it was yesterday), when he was barely out of his teens. Now he is the pastor of a large and dynamic church and has authored numerous books.
