Helping Pastors in the Andes
My family and I are currently in Peru, spending a month with my wife´s relatives. Its been an interesting few weeks, and the month is quickly coming to an end. Last week I flew over the majestic Andes Mountains on my way to the jungle town of Iquitos. Today I take off with my son Gabriel on an overnight bus ride into the central Andes of Peru.
We will be visiting two small towns that sit on either side of the river (the one in the picture!) from each other. We are carrying a few dozen books and hundreds of tracts to help equip local pastors and encourage them in their ministry.
We are going particularly to visit one pastor-friend of mine whose name is Efrain. The books, which are very hard to come by in the Spanish language, will help him and the other pastors to have a more Biblical theological foundation in their ministry. Please pray for the success of this trip!
One other note of interest is that the second town that we will visit (Yanas, Arancai is the first) is the town where almost all of my wife´s family (on her father´s side) come from! This will be my first chance to visit the area and hopefully an opportunity to see the Gospel spread in a very remote and needy place!
I covet your prayers!
You are in my prayers.
