It has been a while since I tackled another question about missions/evangelism. The following question was asked by the same guy who asked the three or four previous ones. I have answered today's question rather briefly, primarily because it is late and I am tired, and I don't think I could write something much longer that would still be somewhat coherent!

If we do not feel like we are effective vessels of the gospel here [in America], would God be able to use us to reach people in a completely different culture?

If we are truly failing to be effective vessels, then we definitely should not head off recklessly into another culture without first repenting and pleading with God to change us and make us the people He wants us to be.

However, if we are merely feeling ineffective in our ministry, but we are in reality walking humbly and in obedience to God, then we need to be reminded not to base our Christian life just on our feelings. God might be using us in many ways that we simply cannot see!

As Christians, we must examine our lives objectively and prayerfully in light of Scripture, to see if we are truly being faithful and obedient to God on a daily basis. If we are walking in obedience, then we can trust that God is using us as "effective vessels" wherever we go and whatever we do.
