For those of you who might be interested, this is an interesting picture of the very beautiful mountain that I was able to climb this past weekend.

This picture was taken by my father this summer from the road that leads to our old apartment. The official name of the mountain, translated from Chinese, is Crown Prince Peak.

Just behind this mountain is where the Tibetan Plateau begins. We live on the northern edge of the Plateau and from here it stretches south and west for thousands of miles before the terrain falls off into northern Burma, India, Bhutan, Nepal, and Pakistan.

Check out my blog from a couple of days ago to see the view from the top of this peak and to read more about the people that inhabit that wilderness region.
