The past couple of weeks have absolutely flown by. Much has been happening, and the year continues to be very, very different than what we expected it to be.
First, as a result of the Tibetan riots, tourism in our area is simply not being allowed at this time. Our tourist cafe (www.snowymtncafe.com) is closed for lack of customers, and we have already lost quite a bit of money as a result. Please pray that God would provide for all of our needs and that the tourism would return soon!
Second, although our restaurant is closed, we have just crossed a major hurdle in regards to our Chinese company. We have successfully passed our first year inspection and have been allowed to continue in business for at least another year. This may not sound like much, but it required a lot of time and patience to produce the required documents needed for us to get our business license renewed, and therefore be allowed to continue living (and ministering!) in this nation. Praise God for that provision!
Third, as a result of tourism being nonexistant over the last few months, we are able to focus much more on ministry related activities than we normally would in the heart of the tourist season. In other words, ministry activities that we normally reserve for fall or winter, we are able to engage in now. This is a true benefit of the poor tourist season … Praise God for working all things out to the glory of His Name!
In Him,
Eugene & family
