The past couple of days have been a good time of rest and fellowship for us. From Thursday evening until today (Sunday), we have been meeting together with a number of other co-workers in this region. It is a very diverse group.
For instance, this morning when we had a time of worship there were 5 Americans, 5 Brazilians, & 2 Peruvians present, along with two half-American/half-Brazilian children and 1 half-American/half-Peruvian (Gabriel)ย child.
All of those who were present are living in this immediate region, but this area is so ethnically diverse that we are almost all working among different people groups that each speak their own languages.
It has also been a rather chilly couple of days, with snow falling on Friday night and last night. Nothing too big, just a couple of inches total, but the first snowfall of the year here in this part of Asia's Highlands.
While it is on my mind, I want to ask you to please join me in praying for the Bao'an people group. The Bao'an are Muslims and there are only 10,000 or so of them in the world. They speak their own language, which is slightly similar to Mongolian, and there has never been a known Christian among them. They only inhabit about 5 towns, all within just a couple of hoursย from where we are currently living.
