One week and nearly 2,000 miles later, our Tibetan Road Trip has come to an end. Today was not near as long as yesterday. We only had to drive about 175 miles, and most of the road was paved.
The coolest thing about today was lunch. When we left yesterday morning to head back towards home, we also agreed to take the elder brother of a good Muslim friend of mine to his home, which was on the way. So, our new Muslim friend Mayun spent all day yesterday with us in the car and today we were able to pass by his home on our way to my home.
The agreement all along was that we would take him along as an extra passenger, but that we had to stay and at least have lunch at their house. For me it was an awesome opportunity to not only get to share with a Muslim, but to also get invited into their home and to get to know their family. So, lunch today was special. We were invited in to a close-nit community of Muslims that are thus far completely unreached in this part of China.
Please pray for Maguang (my friend for the past 3 years) and his elder brother Mayun (whom we just met), and their families. The Lord is providing us with unusual opportunities to get to know this people and we want to make every moment and every relationship count!
Well, this is the end of the Tibetan Road Trip series of blogs. I am exhausted (you may be able to tell by the way I am writing) and need to get some rest. The coming months are going to be busy, so I am sure I will find some interesting things to share with you!
(In case you didn’t notice, I did add a picture to ‘Tibetan Road Trip – Day 3’)
Praise God! It sounds like you had an awesome trip. I hope the seed of the gospel is growing in the monk and in your friend’s family! I’ve been using you pictures as the backgrounds on my computer at work and people keep asking me where they are from so I tell them about your ministry. I’ll keep praying for you and the new car!
A shout out from Bosnia. May our Father shower you and your family with his protection. God Bless Brother.
