Today was definitely the longest day of this 7 day road trip. I drove virtually nonstop from 6:55 this morning until 10:15 this evening. Currently it is 1:24 a.m. and I am ready to go to sleep.

We covered about 500 miles of the Tibetan Plateau today and crossed at least a dozen different mountain passes. Most of the road was decently paved, but the part that was not paved (about 150 miles worth) was pretty bad. I think half the day was spent on the 150 miles of unpaved highway, and the other half on the 350 miles of pavement.

I have made this trip dozens of times by bus, but this was my first time driving. Overall, I think it was better than I had expected. It was a long day's drive, and the bumpy unpaved roads about did me in, but I actually had a good time.

The Lord is teaching me how not to worry, but how to trust Him in all things. As our new vehicle bounces along at 10 mph on some of the worst roads the world has ever known, it is very easy to start worrying about what is going to break first on the car. I have had ample opportunity today to 'cast my cares upon Him' in regards to the vehicle. If God is calling us to go and minister to these people, then He is big enough to take care of our vehicle!
