A few thoughts in reply to this post about the recent events surrounding Tiger Woods:
1. I think the police should stop treating him like “a god” and just get a warrant and ask him the questions..even if his answers don’t go public. They should be able to do their job.
2. I think the vast majority of the public are interested in this story for the WRONG reasons; they want something salacious and they are rooting for something to come out that is crazy, sinful, or otherwise “interesting”. I doubt there are more than a few (Christians, maybe) who are sincerely hoping that it was really nothing at all, as Tiger claims. This is sad.
3. I personally don’t see Tiger as a role model or leader that I would want my kids (or anybody for that matter) to look up to. I cringe everytime I see the blasphemy that flows from his mouth in anger and frustration when he misses a put in golf. I grieve for him.
4. Tiger woods needs “grace”, but not the grace that man gives. We should pray for him, not that he would “come clean” in regards to this recent story, but that he would come clean before his Creator in true repentance and faith; that Jesus Christ would become His Savior and King!
Good thoughts, man. Thanks for the response.
He needs Grace; with a capitol “G”…God’s grace, not some dished out substitute for an apology, but unadulterated grace from Jesus…who can redeem every situation.
Amen.
Amen! We all need Jesus! God could use Tiger in a mighty way because of his visibility to the world along with the world of sports. What a witness this “changed” life could be!
It’s been a joy to read portions of your blog. It’s a blog worth sharing. Glad to find you.
