Dead Tired

I am about as tired as I could possibly be. In China, I typically only feel this way after spending most of the day on a motorcycle crusing China’s beautifully bumpy roads. And that is exactly what I did today. I’ve been from my home city at 6,000 ft. above sea-level, up to Dalijia Pass at 11,800 ft., down to the Yellow River at 5,800 ft., along the river for dozens of miles, then back up to near 9,000 ft. above sea level in a neighboring county, before returning back to my home town 11 hours later just before a large wind, sleet, rain, lightning, and hail storm hit my town.

The day was not spent alone. Most of my time was spent in fellowship with Brother Daniel, a Tibetan believer who I met just last month for the first time. He has stayed at our house for the past couple days and we have been networking/planning for future ministry together. He was saved 3 years ago in a nearby town when a group of Westerners came and shared the Gospel with him. They baptised him in the bathroom of their hotel, and he is on fire for the Lord today!

On a different note, the scenery today was absolutely gorgeous! I prayed as I started out that God would clear the clouds and give me sun. My faith started to falter as I saw the mountain pass socked in with dark clouds just a few minutes after praying. But amazingly, as I reached an altitude of nearly 10,000 ft. farther up the mountain, I came out of the clouds (above them!) and it was a beautiful day with blue sky and a 15,000 ft. snow-capped peak right up the valley in front of me. If I would have taken a picture (I forgot my camera, again!) I don’t think it would have done this mountain justice.

To end this post, I just want to publicly thank God for keeping me safe during yet another day spent on the ‘Schizocycle’. Although the bike has its issues (today was no different!), I am truly amazed that it is still in working condition! You can’t imagine the bumps, ditches, holes, and rocks this bike has hit on these Chinese highways.

Thank you Lord, for having mercy on me and keeping me from harm. Lead us, use us, and protect us as we follow in Your steps.
