God’s Perfect Provision

It has been nearly two weeks since I wrote about a rather serious financial need that we were facing. Even though we couldn't see how, we were certain that God would provide either for us to travel home or to have provision enough to stay on the field.

Well, that miracle came in the form of provision for plane tickets for us to travel to the States later this month. We will be spending a number of months traveling, sharing about the work that is being done in China/Tibet, and raising enough funds to return to the field as soon as we are able.

Another provision that I wanted to mention is that of baby Samuel. Just a few weeks ago, the doctors were telling our Mexican co-workers, Jose and Eloisa, that they would likely need to have a c-section in order for their newest baby boy to be born safely. Well, praise the Lord that today baby Samuel was born without complications in Lanzhou, China. Samuel joins Daniel as one of Jose and Eloisa's two little boys. Pray for Eloisa's quick recovery, and that this family would be provided for in every way…spiritually, physically, emotionally, financially!

(The above picture is of 2 yr old baby Daniel and his parents. They need to travel to Beijing soon to get Daniel's new passport and the new baby's documents in order. The trip will cost at least $600, which is more than a month's living expenses for them! Contact me if you'd like to help them in any way.)

Last but definitely not least, I want to remind you of the perfect provision provided by Jesus Christ on our behalf:

"For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person–though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die–but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:6-8 (ESV)

More important than any financial provision, and even the provision of a healthy new baby, is the eternal provision that Jesus made for our sins by dying for us on the cross!

We could be the poorest of the poor, or even lose everyone and every earthly thing that we hold most dear (such as Job), yet still we would still have Jesus Christ as our Treasure!

Everything else pales in comparison.
