We are still here on the beach, and we will be here for another 10 days or so. The biggest issue we have had to deal with so far is the large number of jellyfish that seem to like these waters as much as the humans do.
So far 4 of the 5 of us have gone into the water (only my wife has yet to go in), and all 4 of us have been stung by jellyfish within about 5 minutes!
I was probably stung the worst. I was out in water just above my waste when I felt something sting my left leg. As I squirmed to get out of its way I also hit it really hard with my right hand. I came out of the incident with a badly stung left leg and right hand, as well as a mildly stung right leg and left hand.
The guys just told me today that they found a place a few hundred yards up the beach where it seems people are swimming without incident. Lets hope so!
One of the locals told me that this is the season where jellyfish are more common around this region, so its not a huge surprise.
