Penny-Pinching

I am always on the lookout for a cheaper hotel, less-expensive meal, or a lower cost way of travelling from one place to another. My guys (our missionaries) always make fun of me by calling me the cheapest American they have ever seen.

And I don’t really blame them. But the word ‘cheap’ probably isn’t the best word to use. More often than not, I would love to not have to worry about how much the food is going to cost or how expensive a hotel room is going to be. But to do so would probably leave us broke in the not-too-distant future.

I often have to explain even to our own guys that as our ministry grows and expands, so do our ‘gastos’ (expenses). Our support base is also growing, but there is definitely no money laying around that we can be careless with. For us (2 couples, 2 children, & 3 single adults in both China & Peru) to survive on a day to day basis, we have to be very wise in the way we live and use the resources that God has provided us.

So, I want to say thank you to all those who do support us financially, and especially to those who lift us up regularly in prayer. Ultimately, it is God who provides for our needs, not men. Please continue praying, and if possible, consider supporting the work God is doing in us and through us here in Asia’s Highlands.

We truly love and appreciate you, our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world!
